If you want to know how to get the subconscious mind to work for you, then you must realize how powerful it is. It’s performing bodily functions without your knowledge. It keeps your body at the right temperature, allows you to breathe to provide oxygen to your bloodstream, and allows you to digest food to nourish your body. All this is done behind the scenes by the autonomic nervous system without conscious thought.
Your Core Belief System
The subconscious is also where your core belief system comes from. Most of this programming was completed by the age of 18. If you had good programming as a child then, you’re likely to be happy and successful in your adult life. However, if you formed a lot of negative beliefs through bad experiences as a child you will probably have difficulty achieving the things you want.
You might say to yourself, “I just can’t catch a break” or “why do bad things keep happening to me.” If you’re unhappy with any part of your life, the negative programming is probably to blame. Some part of your subconscious is holding you back. For instance, if you’re in a job and keep getting passed over for promotions, you might start to think it’s all a conspiracy against you to keep you down.
‘Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford
Finding Negative Beliefs
But no one can put a glass ceiling over you. You are only held back by your limiting beliefs. If you have a desire to be successful but do things that constantly contradict that, then somewhere in your subconscious is a limiting belief about success. You really need to examine your feelings about success or whatever it is you’re trying to achieve.
We often try to use our will and determination to achieve things but can’t figure out why it doesn’t work. Your subconscious mind must be in alignment with your conscious desires. If they don’t line up then it doesn’t matter how much effort you put in. The subconscious will always override the conscious mind.
Do Some Investigating
Often times it’s our subconscious mind that is trying to protect us from something. So it’s important to investigate why you’re not getting the results you want. Say it’s the success that isn’t manifesting because when opportunities are presented to you can’t seem to pull the trigger. Then your subconscious has associated success with something negative.
Maybe as a child, your father work long hours and was never there for you which hurt you deeply. The child’s mind probably created a negative belief that success means you’ll neglect your family. Your subconscious will keep you from being successful until you change that belief.
Think of your subconscious as a computer. If you have the right programming it will run efficiently. So if you want to figure out how to get your subconscious mind to work for you it must be programmed right.
How Do We Do This?
You can learn to master your subconscious so it works for you instead of against you. Do some investigating and figure out why you’re not getting the results you want. Examine your feelings around it. If you want to be healthy but all you do is constantly eat junk food and don’t work out, figure out why.
Go back to your childhood and see what your thoughts were around food. Try to find the negative beliefs that you created in your head. Maybe you had a parent who constantly told you that you needed to lose weight. Or they made negative comments about your food choices all the time.
Think back to incidents when you were young that made you feel bad or upset about yourself when it pertained to food. Write down the exact thoughts that come to mind. These are usually the negative programs that were stored in your subconscious. By doing a breathing technique called the subconscious release technique, you can actually remove these beliefs.
Then turn them into positive affirmations. If you have issues around food and your weight, then use statements like “I love my body” or “I only eat food that nourishes my body.” At first, this will seem like you’re lying to yourself.
But through repetition, you create new neural pathways in the brain. You can actually reprogram your subconscious to work for you. This is what allows us to continue to grow and learn. Consistency is the key. Repeating positive statements impresses the information into your subconscious which in turn perceives it as the truth.
Meditate
This is the fastest way to reach your subconscious mind. You must be in a comfortable place with no external distractions. Take slow deep breaths and quiet your mind. This lowers the frequency of your brain waves.
Start with the top of your head and feel the tension leaving every part of your body and all your muscles relaxing all the way down to your toes. Continue to deepen your breath. Now visualize your perfect life and being in a state of pure happiness. Your subconscious mind listens to commands, so give it the right ones
Through meditation and positive affirmations, you can control your circumstances instead of being a victim of them. These are both powerful tools that will allow you to achieve your goals and the life of your dreams.
“The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large.” – Confucius
Keep Your Brain Active
Think of your brain like a muscle, if it’s not being used atrophy sets in. We have the ability to constantly create new neural pathways through practice. The easiest way to do this is by trying new things.
If you’ve always wanted to play an instrument or learn a new language than take lessons. Try a new sport or go to the theater. Giving your brain new stimuli helps to keep it performing at its peak
Visualization
Coaches have been using this technique with their athletes for years. This is because when they see themselves performing a sport perfectly in their mind, the subconscious does not know it’s not real. The athletes are then able to perform and make split-second decisions because they’ve already done this in their head.
For this to work, you must be very specific with what you want. You must get a clear mental picture of what it looks like. If you want to be successful, visualize what your life will look like if you achieve this. Will it be living in a mansion or traveling to exotic places or flying in a private jet? Whatever your idea of success is.
Creating a vision board that encompasses your desires is very helpful with this. Have it in a prominent place and look at it often. Use strong emotion when doing so and then feel intense gratitude that you are getting it.
“If you’ve been there in the mind, you ‘ll go there in the body.” – Denis Waitley
Positive Self Talk
Your subconscious is constantly absorbing and processing the information that you tell it. If you’re always worried you’re going to be late and keep saying “I don’t want to be late” guess what happens, you’re late. You created the exact thing you didn’t want by telling that to your subconscious repeatedly.
Maybe you’re looking for a soulmate but all you focus on is the fact that you’re alone. Or that it’s too hard to meet someone or they probably won’t like me. You’ll never be able to manifest your soulmate with this negative dialogue
You must turn this around by saying positive things to yourself. For instance, “I am worthy and deserve to have love.” By using positive self-talk you can retrain your subconscious to work for you instead of against you.
“A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.” Mahatma Gandhi
The Power Of The Brain
It is truly amazing that we have access to the best supercomputer called our brain. We can get rid of old programming that is not working for us. Then we can actually create a new positive way of thinking. When the desires of the conscious mind are in alignment with our subconscious mind then anything is possible.
By using these techniques mentioned in this article you will be able to figure out how to get the subconscious mind to work for you to achieve all your goals and dreams. Then you will be able to say, “my subconscious mind is my partner in success.”
